Goodwin Procter Honored With Corporate Philanthropy Award

BOSTON, September 9, 2008- At its 3rd Annual Corporate Philanthropy Summit the Boston Business Journal honored Goodwin Procter LLP with a 2008 Corporate Philanthropy Award, presented in recognition of the firm’s exceptional charitable sponsorship of the Arts and Business Council of Greater Boston.

“Since our founding in 2000, Goodwin Procter has provided us with crucial and significant support; ranging from free space in its State Street offices to business supplies and volunteers,” said Celeste Wilson, Executive Director of the Arts and Business Council of Greater Boston. The non-profit Arts and Business Council of Greater Boston strengthens the collaboration between the areas business and arts communities to sponsor events and programs in the city.

“Not only does the firm allow us to use its office space it also provide us with access to computers, IT services, use of the firms in-house printing company and event catering,” said Wilson. “Goodwin Procter’s generous donation of resources allows us to spend our time on fundraising, programs and event planning, instead of scrambling to secure expensive office space and supplies. The firm has played a key role in the success of our organization and we are thrilled they received this award.”

Over 600 business and non-profit professionals attended the publication’s Corporate Philanthropy Summit, an annual event honoring the region’s top charitable contributors and corporate citizens.

“Our lawyers, associates and support staff are always eager to assist the Arts and Business Council with its fundraising projects, mailings and volunteering at events,” said Regina Pisa, Chairman and Managing Partner of Goodwin Procter, in accepting the award on behalf of the firm.
