David S. Mackey Appointed to the Board of Bar Overseers

The Justices of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court recently announced the appointment of former Goodwin Partner David S. Mackey of Needham to the Board of Bar Overseers. His term will expire on Dec. 31, 2012.

Mackey is chief counsel at the Massachusetts Port Authority, a position he has held since 2001. Previously, he was with the U.S. Attorney's office, where he served as chief of the Civil Division from 1994 until 2000, when he became first assistant U.S. Attorney. Prior to his public service, Mackey was an associate at Goodwin Procter from 1985 to 1991, and a partner from 1991 to 1994. He is a former president of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Federal Bar Association and a former member of the American Arbitration Association. Mackey graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School and summa cum laude from Amherst College, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
