The American Bar Association (ABA) Business Law Section recently announced the selection of Goodwin Associate Danielle Gipson Reyes as a Business Law Ambassador. Danielle was one of five individuals chosen from many extremely qualified applicants from across the country.
Established in 2000, the ABA's Business Law Section Ambassador Program encourages the participation of lawyers of color in ABA Business Law Section activities. Its goal is to give members an opportunity to become involved in the substantive work of the Section, including providing opportunities for pathways to leadership roles within the Section, and increasing awareness about the Section among lawyers of color across the country.
As an ambassador, Danielle will attend the Spring and Annual Meetings of the Section, coordinate efforts with the Section's Liaison to the ABA Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Profession to provide exposure to Section membership benefits, report to the Council of the Section on her experiences as an ambassador, and act as a mentor to new ambassadors and others who join the Section.
"This is a tremendous tribute to Danielle personally, and a great honor for the Financial Services Group and the firm," said Financial Services chair Bob Kurucza. "We are very proud of her."
Danielle joined Goodwin Procter in 2006 as an associate in the firm's Financial Services Group.
