Goodwin Ranked Among Top Private Equity and Venture Capital Law Firms

Private Equity Analyst recently released its annual ranking of the most active private equity and venture capital law firms in the United States. Goodwin Procter ranked fourth overall in the volume of combined private equity and venture capital transactions closed in 2011.

In 2011, Goodwin closed a total of 781 deals. With 522 venture capital deals and 259 private equity deals, Goodwin was once again the only top 10 firm with a balanced venture capital and private equity deal portfolio.

Private Equity Group Chair John LeClaire commented, “781 deals done is highly relevant when partners pool what they learn from them and the deal opportunities they present for the client’s benefit. Law firm culture matters to clients in this way, and Goodwin’s is a plus.

“Goodwin offers clients the unique ability to execute deals ranging from seed financings to buyouts, with robust Private Equity and Technology practices that work cooperatively across the deal landscape,” added Anthony McCusker, Co-Chair of Goodwin’s Technology Companies Practice.  “This deal volume is indicative of our growing level of activity in Silicon Valley and across virtually all major U.S. and international technology centers.”
