Law360 Names Pastuszenski to List of MVP Award Winners, One of Only Six Nationally in Securities Litigation

Goodwin Procter senior partner Brian Pastuszenski has been named to Law360’s 2013 select list of MVP award winners for his work in Securities Litigation. Pastuszenski is co-chair of Goodwin Procter’s Securities Litigation & SEC Enforcement Practice.

In the third edition of this annual ranking, Law360 selected MVPs from among the very best lawyers at the top law firms in the country. Law360 ultimately chose MVPs from 26 practice areas for their exceptional work in litigation or transactional work between October 2012 and October 2013.

Pastuszenski was one of only six Securities Litigation MVPs selected by Law360.

On November 19, Pastuszenski was interviewed by Law360 as part of its series of profiles of the MVP award winners. The interview discusses several of his recent high profile matters, including a victory before the Delaware Supreme Court in September in a matter concerning whether shareholders continue to have the right after a corporate merger to prosecute shareholder derivative claims. Pastuszenski had argued before the Supreme Court en banc in July.

Pastuszenski said during the interview that what attracted him to the securities litigation field is the complexity of the issues and the focus securities cases get from senior management and boards of directors. “What's always important when a lawyer deals with nuanced issues like these is to be extremely clear about what it is you're saying,” Pastuszenski commented. “The goal is to take a very complicated set of issues and identify what's really important and focus the court's attention on it.”
