Structured Interviewing

Goodwin is committed to an objective hiring process based on skills and qualifications. For this reason, we use structured interviews, an interview format that uses predetermined questions and reliable rating scale.  Structured interviews help us moderate interviewers’ biases and give every candidate the same opportunity to succeed.

Career Tracks

Case Assistants

Our Case Assistants participate in a two-year program for recent college graduates interested in the legal field and want to get hands-on experience before attending law school. Case Assistants work side-by-side with attorneys and para-professionals performing real-time client work and doing factual research and document production to contribute to client success.

Catering & Event Planning

Goodwin’s Catering, Conference Services and Event Planning group provides expert planning of both internal and external events. Events range from flagship client development events to smaller client affairs, internal meetings and seminars, and off-site retreats.

Finance & Accounting

Our Finance & Accounting group offers a broad range of support, ranging from payroll, accounts payable and receivable, bill processing, and accounting to sophisticated Financial Planning and Analysis.  Our Pricing and Project Management Team provides innovative, targeted pricing and project management strategies to keep pace with the changing needs of our clients. 

Human Resources

The Human Resources team is responsible for setting and implementing a human capital strategy that aligns with and enables the business to achieve its goals.  The team provides strategic and tactical oversight for professional staff recruitment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, employee life cycle operations, coaching, performance development, and talent management programs and initiatives.  

Information Technology

The IT Department delivers cost effective, reliable, information technology solutions and services that enhance Goodwin’s ability to service clients in an efficient, timely and productive manner. The IT team strives to maintain a world-class service and support organization that consistently meets the needs of our firm, adopting "best of breed" systems and practices.

Knowledge Management

The Knowledge Management department promotes and supports collaboration and efficiency by producing high-quality work to improve the quality, speed, and efficiency of the Firm’s client services and operational processes by evolving and adopting best practices with regards to substantive and operational knowledge sharing.

Legal Recruitment

The Legal Recruitment team is responsible for all attorney hiring at the firm, including summer associates, entry-level associates, lateral associates and lateral partners.


Goodwin’s Marketing Department supports three critical objectives:  marketing, communications, and business development.  We strive to establish a stronger and more distinct brand presence for Goodwin in the marketplace. Our Communications team works to create consistent and impactful internal and external messages. And our Business Development team provides top support to client development efforts.

Office Administration

Our Office Administrators have primary day-to-day responsibility for running many of Goodwin’s offices. From facilities management and general operations, to secretarial and staff management, our Office Administrators ensure that the lawyers in each office provide consistently excellent client service and that our Professional Staff delivers the same service to our internal and external clients.

Learning + Professional Development

Learning + Professional Development is dedicated to the professional growth of all Goodwin attorneys. The team provides training in substantive legal skills and professional skills, and is responsible for attorney integration, feedback, coaching and mentoring. The team also helps lead diversity initiatives, builds the alumni network and assists lawyers in transition from the firm.

Program Management

Goodwin's PMO team is dedicated to the advancement of project management and project portfolio management best practices. We advise on the selection and delivery of technology-related products and services, from the selection of the project portfolio and initiatives that best align with the firm's business objectives to the successful execution and delivery of projects.

Research Services

Responsible for managing all aspects of firm-wide research services; including the delivery of legal and non-legal research to members of the firm, continuous evaluation and  improvement of research services and research products and integration.

Secretarial Services

Goodwin’s legal secretaries provide industry-leading support to our lawyers. Our secretaries provide a range of services from document creation and management to travel and heavy calendar management. Goodwin is committed to ensuring that our secretaries receive ongoing training to stay current in the latest technology and help us deliver top client service.
