Goodwin Procter Highly Active in the U.S. Pipe Market in 2009

BOSTON, January  5, 2010 – Very active in the PIPE market in 2009, Goodwin Procter was one of only five law firms in the United States highly-ranked in all three categories tracked in the Private Raise 2009 PIPE/Registered Direct Rankings. In this alternative financing market, Goodwin Procter advised on a total of 53 PIPE/RD transactions for an aggregate of over $1.1 billion in deal value in 2009.

With respect to underwriter/placement agent representation, the firm was ranked second in the United States for both number of PIPE/RD transactions completed and the total dollar amount advised upon. In addition, the firm ranked third with respect to number of transactions done in regards to issuer representation and tenth with respect to number of transactions done in regards to investor representation in the United States.
