A team of Goodwin lawyers across Boston, Los Angeles, New York and Silicon Valley offices advised OVH, a global hyper-scale cloud provider, in its completed acquisition of vCloud Air, VMware’s former cloud offering based on the software-driven data center.

With the completion of the transaction, OVH has acquired vCloud Air’s business from VMware, including data center and customer operations, customers and an enterprise-ready support team. OVH will continue operations of the acquired service as “vCloud Air Powered by OVH,” and will leverage VMware’s hybrid cloud technology. In addition, OVH will continue to partner with VMware on go-to-market and customer support around the three proven vCloud Air use cases: data center extension, data center consolidation and data center recovery.

OVH is one of the largest cloud service providers in the world with more than one million customers and 260,000 servers deployed. A long-time VMware vCloud® Air Network™ partner with more than 200,000 VMs from thousands of customers running VMware vSphere® Private Cloud, OVH has repeatedly been recognized as VMware’s “Service Provider of the Year.”

The Goodwin team was led by partner Joe Theis and included partners Janet Andolina, Jeff Klein, Steve Feldstein and James Mattus, and associates Bethany Withers, James Devendorf and Jacob Osborn.
