Global law firm Goodwin announced today that its Washington, DC office relocated from 901 New York Avenue to a built-to-suit space at 1900 N Street in Washington's Dupont Circle Historic District. The growing office is home to Goodwin’s nearly 200 Washington, DC-based lawyers and professional staff.

“Our success in Washington is a story of tremendous growth across litigation, corporate and regulatory practices in support of our clients across Goodwin's key industries – in particular, those industries that sit at the intersection of capital and innovation,” said Rob Insolia, Chairman of Goodwin. “Our clients’ success across the private equity, financial, life sciences, technology and real estate industries has brought us to this new, state-of-the-art home in Washington. The office is open, collaborative and modern. In other words, it is perfectly reflective of who we are as a firm.”

As the anchor tenant, Goodwin occupies the building’s top three floors and a portion of another floor, totaling approximately 93,000 square feet.

Goodwin’s Washington, DC office represents clients in complex corporate, litigation and regulatory matters with a focus on the private equity, technology, life sciences and financial services industries. Areas of emphasis include consumer financial services litigation and investigations; Supreme Court and appellate litigation; intellectual property; antitrust, global trade, and privacy and cybersecurity matters; financings, fund formation, M&A, buyouts, growth equity deals and growth company representations; collaborations and licensing; and FDA regulatory and litigation matters.

The office and its lawyers are frequently recognized with industry awards and accolades. Most recently, The American Lawyer ranked the office as the number one place in DC for summer associates to work, and The National Law Journal named Goodwin to its 2019 Appellate Hot List.

This office move follows the recent opening of Goodwin’s private investment funds-focused office in Luxembourg and technology and private equity-focused office in Santa Monica.
