Law Firms Pivot to Address Post-‘Roe’ Realities (Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly)

The U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision overturning Roe v. Wade has law firms joining a parade of law firms across the country that are establishing practice groups dedicated to addressing the range of issues clients are facing because of the dramatically altered landscape for abortion rights. The Goodwin task force is co-chaired by Elaine H. Blais, who also heads the Litigation department at the firm's Boston office, and Caroline H. Bullerjahn, a partner in the Securities Litigation & White Collar Defense practice. "We received an initial rush of client inquiries about the impact of Dobbs," Blais says in explaining the decision to launch the task force. "We quickly realized we had many disciplines within the firm receiving these kinds of calls and determined that coordination in terms of consistency of message was going to be essential." Blais adds that the task force allows the firm to be proactive in identifying issues that clients have yet to encounter or consider. Read the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly article here
