Goodwin announced Monday that it has hired the former assistant chief counsel and acting co-chief counsel of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's enforcement division as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office. Jonathan Hecht started Monday with the firm's Complex Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice after more than 10 years with the SEC. He said that while it was a difficult decision to leave the agency, a combination of time and the opportunity that Goodwin presented led him to make the jump back to private practice. "I think there's a tremendous amount of need for the kind of expertise I developed during my time at the SEC," Hecht told Law360, adding his expertise will allow him to make an immediate contribution at Goodwin and help clients looking to navigate securities laws effectively and efficiently.
