Karachi Achilihu is a corporate associate in the firm’s Business Law Department and member of the Technology group. As a corporate generalist who works with a variety of technology clients, Ms. Achilihu advises entrepreneurs and startups, emerging to public companies, and investors at all stages of the company life cycle with focuses on entity formation (including foreign companies), venture capital, M&A and other strategic transactions, and corporate governance + general corporate counseling. Ms. Achilihu has experience with clients operating within the e-commerce, computer hardware and software (i.e. cloud, data, artificial intelligence, augmented reality), FinTech, wireless/mobile devices, automobile, biotechnology, and cryptocurrency industries.

Ms. Achilihu is admitted to practice in Maryland only; her application to the California bar is pending. She is working under the supervision of the partners at Goodwin.

Professional Experience

During law school, Ms. Achilihu certified in business law and gained relevant experience by working for a Fortune 100 company, participating in a transactional negotiation competition involving corporate acquisitions, researching corporate and data privacy laws in emerging foreign markets, and counseling business-centric startup cooperatives and social enterprises on equity development and general corporate matters. Ms. Achilihu served as an editor for the Maryland Law Review, President of the Black Law Students Association, and Vice President of the Business Law Society. She also received the William P. Cunningham Award, William H. Murphy Family Scholarship, Maryland Graduate and Professional Scholarship, BLSA Banquet Book Scholarship, and CALI Award in the Small Business & Community Equity Development Clinic, as well being selected as a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Scholar.

Professional Activities
Ms. Achilihu is a member of the WomenTech Network and the American Bar Association (within the Science & Technology, Business Law, and Intellectual Property sections).
