Ben Eaton, a partner in Goodwin’s Tax practice, focuses on the tax aspects of real estate transactions and investment funds. He has considerable experience advising on the tax aspects of real estate investment, financing, development and leasing, the structuring of funds and joint ventures investing in real estate and real estate debt, and transactions involving real estate operating businesses. Mr Eaton also has experience with the tax aspects of private equity transactions and funds investing in other asset classes. Much of Mr Eaton’s work involves advising on international tax issues associated with cross-border investment.

Professional Activities

Mr. Eaton is a member of the Tax Law Committee of the Law Society and chairs its Stamp Taxes working group. He is also a member of the Stamp Taxes Practitioners Group and an associate member of the British Property Federation’s Tax Committee.

Prior to joining Goodwin in 2012, Mr. Eaton practiced at Allen & Overy LLP in London.
