Mr. Schlikker is specialized on advising international as well as German asset managers and German institutional investors with respect to investments in complex Alternative Investments (amongst others private debt funds, private equity funds, real estate and infrastructure funds, hedge funds) for more than a decade.
In this context his legal areas of expertise cover investment regulatory law, German investment tax law and German investor’s regulatory law.
Mr. Schlikker’s focus is in particular on advising German “VAG-Investors” (insurance companies, pension funds, pension schemes / Versorgungswerke) regarding their investments in Alternative Investments according to the German Investment Ordinance / Anlageverordnung and/or the (EU) Solvency II Regime.
Prior to joining Goodwin, Mr. Schlikker worked more than three years for Dechert LLP in Frankfurt as a Senior Associate.
He previously worked nine years for PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Alternative Investment Group (his last position at PwC was Senior Manager).
Mr. Schlikker is a member of the expert committee “Investor Supervisory Law” (Fachausschuss Investorenaufsichtsrecht) of the German Association for Alternative Investments / BAI.
He is also a member of the expert committee “Fund Regulation / Investment Law” (Fachausschuss Fondsregulierung und Investmentrecht) of the German Association for Alternative Investments / BAI.
