London-based Private Equity and Fintech partner Arvin Abraham was appointed to the Bank of England and HM Treasury’s C-Suite CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) Engagement Forum.

The CBDC Engagement Forum was established by the Bank of England and HM Treasury to help coordinate the exploration of a potential UK CBDC, which, if implemented, would be a new form of digital money issued by the Bank of England for use by households and businesses. The Forum engages senior stakeholders and gathers strategic input on all non-technology aspects of CBDCs, and has an important role in helping the Bank and HM Treasury understand the practical challenges of designing, implementing, and operating a CBDC.

At Goodwin, Abraham focuses his practice on transactions for private equity sponsors, venture capital and growth equity funds, and strategic investors, primarily in the fintech and healthcare sectors. With a strong background in fintech and digital currency, Abraham also advises fintech, blockchain, and digital asset companies, investors, and network participants with respect to digital asset transactions, new platform set-up, and related regulatory matters.

Recognized as one of the leading fintech lawyers in London, Abraham is ranked by Chambers UK in Fintech Legal – Blockchain & Cryptocurrencies, and Fintech Legal – Corporate Securities & Financing.
