Victoria Schonfeld Joins Goodwin Procter LLP In New York

BOSTON, April 7, 2004 — Goodwin Procter LLP today announced the addition of Victoria E. Schonfeld to the firm’s Financial Services Practice. She joins the firm as partner in its New York office.

Schonfeld has wide-ranging investment management experience, with specific expertise helping clients structure, document and operate retail advisory products, mutual funds and private investment funds. In a previous position, she developed risk management and compliance procedures that have become models for other investment management firms.

“Vicki has a unique combination of high-level experience at top investment management companies, as well as financial services law expertise that will make her a key member of our Financial Services Practice,” said Regina M. Pisa, chairman and managing partner of Goodwin Procter. “We are dedicated to expanding the depth and geographic reach of our Financial Services Practice and the addition of Vicki will broaden our existing talent in this area.”

Goodwin Procter offers its clients an interdisciplinary approach to the delivery of legal services within the financial services industry, providing expertise across a broad range of financial products and services such as retail and institutional banking, mutual funds, hedge funds, funds that invest in real estate and real estate securities, and funds that invest in private equities, among other asset management products and services.

She joins the firm from Wilmer Cutler & Pickering, where she was a member of the firm’s Investment Management Practice. Previously, she was senior vice president of Paine Webber and managing director and general counsel of Mitchell Hutchins Asset Management. Before joining Paine Webber, she was a partner at Arnold & Porter in New York. While at Arnold & Porter, Vicki worked with Melanie Fein, a partner in the firm’s Financial Services Practice in Washington, DC.

She earned her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and J.D. from Columbia University School of Law.
