Benjamin Hershkowitz Joins Goodwin Procter LLP in New York

BOSTON, Aug. 22, 2005 — Goodwin Procter LLP, a leading national law firm with offices in Boston, New York, New Jersey and Washington, DC, today announced the addition of Benjamin Hershkowitz to its Intellectual Property Litigation Practice.  Hershkowitz joins the firm as partner in its New York office.

Hershkowitz concentrates his practice on intellectual property litigation, focusing on high tech matters involving computer networking equipment, cellular telephony, computer hardware and software, radio frequency identification, e-mail, semiconductors, business methods, and Internet and information technologies.   In addition, Hershkowitz has extensive experience involving patent licensing and counseling, and he has advised clients on trademark, trade secret and copyright matters.

Hershkowitz has a background in electrical engineering, including a B.S.E.E. degree, with a particular emphasis on digital signal processing, communications and computer programming.   In addition, he is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, a frequent speaker and author and is the editor-in-chief of Patent Strategy & Management, a monthly newsletter.

Prior to joining Goodwin Procter, Hershkowitz was a partner at Kenyon & Kenyon.   He received his B.S.E.E degree from Rutgers University, with highest honors, and his J.D. from New York University Law School.
