BOSTON, May 8, 2007 — Goodwin Procter LLP, one of the nation’s leading law firms with more than 750 attorneys, announced the promotion of Peter F. Lane to Chief Information Officer. Since 1999, Lane has been instrumental in building a first-rate IT organization, overseeing the firm’s service and support of information, telecommunication, and video conferencing systems.
“Peter has shown great leadership and has contributed to the success of many departments firm-wide, and his achievements have led to the firm’s recognition in national surveys of law firm IT departments,” said Arthur Greenberg, Goodwin Procter’s Chief Operating Officer.
Lane, along with his staff, was responsible for the development of iStaff, a web-based application that has revolutionized the firm’s staffing process. Since the launch of iStaff, staffing information is centralized and easily accessible through an intuitive web-based interface, providing a scalable platform to support staffing needs as the firm continues its expansion.
Lane, who chairs the firm’s Technology Committee, oversees the implementation and execution of all firm-wide IT initiatives. Prior to his tenure at Goodwin Procter, he served for more than 10 years as the IT Director at Choate, Hall & Stewart.
