For thirty years, Maureen Shea has been instrumental in all aspects of Goodwin's recruiting program, including overseeing the hiring of hundreds of attorneys and alumni of the firm. Our ability to attract and retain outstanding attorneys is due in no small part to Maureen’s leadership and her personal acumen, working closely with partners of the firm and the terrific recruiting team that she built as Director of Legal Recruitment.
We are delighted to announce that Maureen will soon become Director, Office of the Chair. In her new role, Maureen will work directly with Chairman and Managing Partner Regina M. Pisa and Chief Operating Office Arthur Greenberg, and will focus on several key initiatives, including management outreach, alumni and community relations and strategic direction for firmwide events and projects. Maureen's unparalleled people skills and knowledge of the firm, its culture and its history make her uniquely qualified for her new role at the firm.
As Maureen transitions to the Office of the Chair, Joan Tagliareni will assume the position of Director of Legal Recruitment. Joan will oversee the firm’s hiring efforts for entry-level and lateral partner and associate candidates.
An alumnus of our summer program, Joan began her career at Goodwin Procter as an associate in the firm’s environmental practice. After practicing at the firm for nearly six years, she joined McDermott Will & Emery where she led the recruiting and professional development efforts for its Boston office.
In 2008, Joan returned to Goodwin Procter in the role of Senior Legal Recruitment & Law School Relations Manager. Since rejoining the firm, she has worked closely with our hiring partners and managers and has significantly strengthened our relationships with key law schools, developing new and innovative programs.
Joan is a frequent speaker and participant in law school panels and programs designed to introduce law students to the legal field.
