A team of Goodwin Procter attorneys recently advised TripAdvisor, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRIP) on its acquisition of CruiseWise, Inc., an online booking agency for cruises. The CruiseWise team and non-transactional functionality will be integrated into TripAdvisor’s Cruise Critic brand. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
TripAdvisor is the world’s largest travel site offering advice from real travelers and a wide variety of planning features for seamless booking. Formed in 2011 as a spin-out from Expedia, Inc. and based in Newton, Mass., TripAdvisor branded sites make up the largest travel community in the world with more than 60 million unique monthly visitors and over 75 million reviews and opinions. TripAdvisor sites operate in 30 countries.
CruiseWise, founded in 2010 and based in San Francisco, Calif., is an online agency for booking cruises and combines technology with an in-house team of cruise experts to improve the way you plan your cruise vacation.
