Goodwin Ranked Second in Placement Agent Rankings for 2013 PIPE Transactions

Goodwin Procter was the second-most active placement agent legal counsel for PIPE transactions for 2013 according to Sagient Research Systems’ PlacementTracker and DealFlow’s PrivateRaise.

PlacementTracker’s recently released rankings listed Goodwin as the No. 2 placement agent counsel with 33 transactions totaling $1.025 billion. And the firm ranked second on PrivateRaise’s league table, advising on 26 transactions totaling $920 million as placement agent legal counsel.

PrivateRaise also ranked Goodwin in the top 10 in the number of placements advised as issuer legal counsel with 11 placements worth more than $250 million combined.

PIPE (private investment in public equity) transactions provide smaller and mid-sized public companies with a lower-cost and more efficient means of raising capital, when compared to more traditional forms of equity financing such as secondary offerings.

Attorneys in Goodwin Procter’s Capital Markets, Technology Companies and Private Equity Practices actively represent a variety of issuers, investors, underwriters and placement agents in PIPE transactions and provide ongoing advice to clients as they access the capital markets to expand business, provide owner liquidity and achieve long-term business objectives.
