The 2014 edition of The Lawdragon 500 – The Five Hundred Leading Lawyers in America recognizes Goodwin Procter’s Regina Pisa, Brian Pastuszenski and David Watson as part of an elite group comprising the top 500 lawyers in the United States.
Pisa is chairman emeritus of Goodwin Procter. She led the firm as the first woman chairman and managing partner of an Am Law 100 law firm from 1998 to 2014. She is also a member of the firm’s financial institutions group and her merger and acquisition work has earned her and the firm national recognition among the nation’s top M&A lawyers.
“The year 2014 is a historic one for Goodwin Procter as Pisa ends her remarkable 16-year tenure that witnessed her innovate leadership strategies to take the firm to new heights as a global power,” Lawdragon’s editors wrote of Pisa.
Pastuszenski is a senior partner and co-chair of Goodwin Procter's national Securities Litigation & SEC Enforcement Practice. He is widely recognized as one of the nation’s premier lawyers in defending securities class action and shareholder litigation matters, as well as proceedings brought by the SEC and other regulatory organizations.
“It is hard to rattle the co-chair of Goodwin Procter’s SEC enforcement and securities litigation practice,” the Lawdragon editors wrote about Pastuszenski, noting his defense of securities litigation stemming from the credit crisis for the country’s largest mortgage lender.
Watson is a partner and chair of Goodwin Procter’s Private Investment Funds Practice. He focuses his practice on the formation of private investment funds, securities offerings, partnership law, securities law compliance and general corporate matters.
“The Chair of the firm’s private investment funds practice at Goodwin Procter is among the best at fund formation, heading up work for clients like Advent International,” editors wrote of Watson.
