Real Estate Forum magazine recently named Goodwin Procter Real Estate Capital Markets associates Jennifer Sung and Mitch Laufer to its Emerging Leaders: Hotels and Tomorrow’s Leaders: Southern California lists, respectively. Sung and Laufer are based in Goodwin’s Los Angeles office.
Sung, featured in the January 2015 issue of Real Estate Forum, was one of 15 emerging leaders age 35 and below selected in the hotels field. She has been primarily involved in closing more than 160 different commercial real estate transactions during her career, which includes a period of major economic downturn. She represents national real estate funds in negotiating hotel acquisitions, sales, financings and joint ventures together with the hotel's accompanying management and franchise agreements. Sung has closed 16 hospitality transactions in the last 12 months, including $290 million in property acquisitions and $370 million in financings.
Laufer was recognized as one of 20 rising stars in commercial real estate in Southern California in the February/March issue of Real Estate Forum. Laufer has experience representing clients in a variety of real estate matters, including sales and acquisitions, hotel transactions, mortgage and construction financing, joint ventures, property management agreements, and the development and leasing of office, industrial, multi-family residential and hotel real estate assets. He has closed more than 200 commercial real estate transactions in four years.
