Mr. Cook provides advice on a wide range of legal issues relating to business planning, agreements and disputes, and handles a variety of matters before the federal agencies dealing with maritime and intermodal transportation, including the Federal Maritime Commission, the Surface Transportation Board and the U.S. Maritime Administration, as well as before federal district and appellate courts.
David B. Cook
David Cook, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, specializes in counseling and litigation on behalf of companies involved in maritime and intermodal transportation, including international container carriers and marine terminal operators.
Mr. Cook was a partner at Shea & Gardner prior to its combination with Goodwin in 2004. Prior to that, he served as an attorney at the U.S. Council on Environmental Quality (1972-1975), where he was a member of U.S. delegations to international maritime negotiations, including the United Nations Law of the Sea Conference.
Mr. Cook has been selected for inclusion in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business and Best Lawyers. While attending law school, he was a Note and Comment Editor for the Yale Law Journal.
