Bethany P. Withers

Bethany Withers is an associate in the firm’s Technology Transactions Practice and Technology and Life Sciences Groups. Ms. Withers concentrates on commercial transactions, technology and intellectual property transactions, intellectual property issues in mergers, acquisitions and venture capital and private equity transactions, and compliance with sweepstakes and other promotional laws. She joined Goodwin in 2011.


Professional Experience

Prior to joining Goodwin, Ms. Withers served as the Policy & Programs Manager at the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Organization for Women (Mass. NOW).


While attending law school, Ms. Withers was the senior article editor and senior technical editor for the Harvard Law and Policy Review and an article editor for the Harvard Journal of Sports and Entertainment Law. She received the Paul C. Weiler Student Writing Prize for her article, “The Integrity of the Game: Professional Athletes and Domestic Violence,” 1 Harv. J. of Sports & Ent. L. 145 (2010). She has been quoted, interviewed and published by a variety of media outlets on the issue of athletes and violence against women, including The New York Times, CBC Radio-Canada, Slate and USA Today.
