Thousands of people are trying to flee a life threatening situation in Afghanistan. Over the past several weeks, more than 100 Goodwin lawyers have volunteered to help refugees from Afghanistan obtain visas and other legal means of entry into the United States. Among those leading this effort is Nawa Lodin, an associate in Goodwin’s New York office. In this video interview with Goodwin’s Chairman Robert Insolia, Nawa discusses the country’s humanitarian crisis and ways to support the people of Afghanistan. “We have children arriving at Dulles Airport with no shoes,” shared Nawa, whose parents escaped Afghanistan in the 1980s. “I am grateful that I can help refugees get through this process, especially knowing what my family went through.” Locate the two organizations mentioned in the video here: https://lnkd.in/dp3dPHNw and http://ow.ly/iCdK50GbmeD.
