In late March 2007, Goodwin Procter signed a lease for 210,000 square feet in The New York Times Building (NYT), a 52-story office tower located at 620 Eighth Avenue, near Times Square. Having just opened on November 19th, 2007, NYT and its architect, Renzo Piano, are already receiving rave reviews.
Why is Goodwin Procter moving? We presently have 185 attorneys at our current 599 Lexington Avenue location, and we anticipate the number of attorneys and staff in New York to double within the next eight years. To accommodate this growth, we looked for space with superb amenities, a central location and features that allow for ease of expansion. We are committed to thriving in New York and believe this premier office space will be a central component of these efforts – providing a wonderful work environment for our employees and clients. Our move to the NYT is scheduled for Spring 2008, at which time we will occupy seven floors in the building.
Who else will be at the NYT? NYT is the new corporate headquarters for The New York Times and will also host global asset management firm, Legg Mason, and law firms Seyfarth Shaw and Covington & Burling.
