We are proud to announce that Scott Westfahl, who serves as the firm's Director of Professional Development, was recently elected chair of the 370-member Professional Development Consortium (PDC). The PDC is composed of individuals at law firms, government agencies and corporations who are responsible for developing training and continuing professional development programs for lawyers.
“Scott's election as chair of the PDC highlights his commitment to furthering professional development within the legal industry, and his work for the organization will allow us further insight into how the firm can provide meaningful development opportunities to our people,” said Allison Friend, Goodwin Procter's Chief Human Resources Officer.
As chair of the PDC, Scott will be responsible for leading its efforts to help members share information, network, and broaden their professional development and training skills. The PDC maintains an active website and list-serve for information sharing among members, and holds exclusive members-only conferences. Under Scott’s leadership, the organization has begun to partner with the National Association of Legal Career Professionals (NALP) and legal service providers such as Thomson West, American Law Institute-American Bar Association Continuing Professional Education (ALI-ABA) and the Practising Law Institute (PLI).
