Goodwin has signed on to the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Pledge Campaign to effect positive changes to improve mental health and well-being among lawyers.
The campaign, organized by the ABA Working Group to Advance Well-Being in the Legal Profession, identifies seven core areas where firms should focus and the concrete steps they should take to raise awareness and improve lawyers’ overall well-being.
“Goodwin’s long-standing commitment to creating a healthy, supportive work environment for lawyers and staff aligns perfectly with the ABA Pledge Campaign’s mission,” said David Hashmall, Chairman of Goodwin. “Our team’s health and well-being are of utmost importance and we are committed to expanding our existing resources for lawyers and professionals accordingly.”
The Working Group to Advance Well-Being in the Legal Profession was created to examine and make recommendations regarding the current state of attorney mental health and substance use, with an emphasis on helping legal employers support healthy work environments. The Working Group was formed at the request of Immediate Past-President Hilarie Bass and will continue to operate under President Bob Carlson’s leadership.
