Goodwin COO Mike Caplan has been named The Changing Lawyer Awards 2019 Legal Innovator of the Year. The awards recognize individuals, firms, and companies in the legal industry that have utilized new technology, service models, or behavior to positively impact clients and significantly increase efficiency.
In his role as COO, Caplan manages the firm's business, financial and administrative operations. He serves on Goodwin's Executive and Management Committees, and focuses on the firm’s strategy and execution.
Throughout his tenure, Caplan has made connectivity and convergence the key pillars of his leadership agenda. He has continually focused on helping to develop and transform Goodwin’s client relationships into strategic partnerships, where both the practice of law and the business of law are leveraged for the benefit of the client.
Caplan has received recognition from the Financial Times for “Redesigning the service model,” and was named North American Operations Executive of the Year by the 2018 Best in Biz Awards. A frequent media contributor, his views have been featured in Bloomberg, The National Law Journal, The American Lawyer and New York Law Journal.
Caplan and the other winners were announced during an awards ceremony at ILTACON in Orlando, Florida, which is the world’s premier conference for the legal technology sector.
