Goodwin Announces the 2020 1L Diversity Student Fellows

Goodwin has announced the recipients of its 1L Diversity Fellowship Program. Now in its 15th consecutive year, the innovative program welcomes a talented collection of ten law students from schools across the country.

“We are extremely pleased to announce this year’s 1L Diversity Fellowship recipients, each of whom has demonstrated exceptional academic performance and a strong commitment to public service,” said Emily Rapalino, Goodwin’s National Hiring Partner. “Diversity is a core value at Goodwin and a necessary part of building stronger teams and a more inclusive organization. As we continue to strive to better serve the interests of our clients and community, this program is a key step in expanding and deepening our commitments to diversity and public service.”

1L Fellowships support first-year students from underrepresented backgrounds who display an interest in spending the summer working in public interest legal positions. In their summer roles, students gain varied experiences involving a wide range of client populations and areas of the law, and get the opportunity to work with attorney-advisors who provide mentorship and guidance throughout the summer and beyond.

2020 Fellows will also be considered for the Wayne A. Budd and Marian A. Tse Diversity Scholarships. These scholarships provide selected recipients with a summer associate position in one of Goodwin’s U.S. offices during summer 2021 and assistance with third-year tuition costs.
