Goodwin partner Michelle Tong was named a Rising Star in the UK by the International Financial Law Review’s (IFLR) Rising Stars Awards Europe 2020. The annual awards recognize the continent’s leading up-and-coming lawyers across 25 practice areas and 33 jurisdictions, with winners being selected based on their professional accomplishments, advocacy and influence within their area of experience.
Based in the London office, Tong is a partner in the firm’s Private Equity group. Her practice focuses on advising private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies on a broad range of matters, including leveraged buyouts, structured equity investments, distressed investments, equity and debt restructurings, joint ventures, management incentive plans and fund formations.
Among Tong’s recent honors, Financial News named her a 2020 Private Equity Rising Star, which is an honor reserved for the most promising dealmakers, fundraisers, advisers and investor relations professionals under 40 in Europe. She was also named to Private Equity International’s Future 40 List for 2020, which is awarded to young professionals set to shape the private equity industry over the next decade.
