The India Business Law Journal (IBLJ) has recognized Goodwin and partners Yash Rana and Abhishek Krishnan for their success advising Indian companies as well as other international clients in a number of high-profile commercial transactions.
The IBLJ’s Deals of the Year 2021 praised Goodwin for its work on two recent matters in the Private Equity & Venture Capital category. In one of the deals, Goodwin advised a private equity firm that participated in One97’s $1 billion Series G funding round. For the second deal, Goodwin served as international counsel to Bangalore-based fintech startup Razorpay in its $100 million Series D funding round that valued the company at $1 billion.
The IBLJ’s International A-List, which honors the top India-focused lawyers at international law firms, included Rana and Krishnan in its 2021 edition. Rana is a partner in the firm’s Private Equity group, and leads Goodwin’s Asia practice and Hong Kong office. Krishnan is also a partner based in Goodwin’s Hong Kong office and a member of the firm’s Private Equity group.
This success builds on the firm’s recent rankings in Chambers Asia-Pacific 2021 and Chambers Global 2021, as both guides recognized Goodwin as an elite firm for Corporate / M&A in India. Chambers praised the firm for its “incredible expertise” and noted that its “skilled at handling onshore Indian transactions.”
