Erik Dahl, partner in Goodwin’s Private Equity practice, said: "Our private equity platform now has over 110 lawyers across our European offices. With Florian’s deep experience working with private equity investment managers domestically and on complex cross-border transactions, he is an excellent fit and the ideal complement to our existing team."
Hirschmann, who is resident in Munich on a remote basis, advises clients primarily on complex, cross-border private equity, M&A and venture capital transactions, as well as joint ventures. He also has in-depth expertise in German-Chinese investments. He has advised private equity clients for more than 15 years and is widely recognized as an industry leader in Germany. He was most recently named a "Frequently Recommended Lawyer" for M&A and Private Equity in the JUVE Handbook and was honored by both JUVE and Legal 500 as a market leader for China deals in Germany.
"Florian is the latest renowned market leader to join our Germany team and underscores our commitment to be the leading firm in the industry verticals in which our clients operate," said Stephan Kock, chair of Goodwin's Frankfurt office. "We look forward to working with Florian as we continue to partner with clients to shape their success and advance Goodwin’s capital-meets-innovation strategy."
In addition to Hirschmann, private equity counsel Silvio McMiken will be joining Goodwin in Germany. McMiken has extensive experience in a wide range of transactional and corporate advisory work, including public and private domestic and cross-border acquisitions and disposals, mergers, joint ventures and restructuring.
Hirschmann and McMiken are the latest additions to Goodwin’s fast-growing Germany platform since launching in Frankfurt in 2016. Over the past year, the firm added partners Dr. Anke Johann (Real Estate Finance), Dr. Oded Schein (Tax), Dr. Jan Schinköth (Private Equity), Dr. Markus Käpplinger (Corporate Real Estate) and Sebastian Bruchwitz (Private Investment Funds) bringing Goodwin's Germany team to over 40 lawyers.
