Ariel White-Tsimikalis Named to the UK’s 2023 Power in the City List

Goodwin partner Ariel White-Tsimikalis has been recognized by the UK’s 2023 Power in the City List. The annual list, sponsored by JP Morgan, celebrates the 25 most influential senior Black executives from the financial services, technology, and legal sectors across the UK. Among this year’s honorees are the Chief Financial Officer of the Bank of England, Chief Financial Officer (Middle East & Africa) of Microsoft UK, and the Head of Communications of the London Stock Exchange.

Based in London, White-Tsimikalis is a partner in the firm’s Technology and Life Sciences group and Capital Markets practice. She specializes in advising corporates (with a particular focus on growth companies), financial institutions, and private equity funds on equity capital markets transactions (including IPOs and secondary offerings) and general public company advisory matters.

A go-to ESG specialist and member of the firm’s ESG & Impact, Women’s Health & Wellness, and Public Company Advisory groups, White-Tsimikalis regularly advises listed companies and regulated entities on their ESG obligations, particularly on governance matters. A highly sought-after writer, speaker, and market commentator, she has shared her views on governance matters and the capital markets with high-profile publications and conferences such as ESG Investor, Private Equity News, the Women, Influence & Power in Law Conference, City A.M., and LexisNexis.

Throughout her career, White-Tsimikalis has been committed to using her platform to benefit diversity, equity and inclusion efforts both within law firms and externally, contributing to many initiatives focused on building a stronger pipeline of diverse lawyers in the legal profession. She currently serves as a Committee Member of the Law Society’s Women Lawyers Division, where she spearheaded the 2020 Fiona Woolf Lecture, one of the Law Society’s signature events, to focus on a topic relating to Black lawyers specifically for the first time in the lecture’s history. She is mentor for the Black Solicitor’s Network Creating Pathways programme and Black Women in Asset Management’s leadership accelerator programme. Recently, she led the firm’s first external-facing UK client event for Black History Month, which focused on Black women in the Tech sector.
