Global law firm Goodwin continues to enhance its global Private Investment Funds platform with the addition of Audra Cohen who joined the firm’s practice as a partner, resident in the New York office.
Cohen has more than 10 years of experience representing some of the largest and most prominent global private funds sponsors. She is the latest to join Goodwin’s global private funds practice, with more than 230 lawyers across the US, London, Paris, Frankfurt, Luxembourg, Hong Kong and Singapore. Goodwin’s global Private Investment Funds team represents more than 1,000 investment managers around the world, with a particular focus in the private equity, real estate, technology, and life sciences sectors. The firm was recently named the Private Funds/Hedge Funds Law Firm of the Year by US News — Best Lawyers Best Law Firms 2023.

Cohen advises sponsor clients on all aspects of fund formation, fundraising, negotiations, and ongoing compliance in connection with real estate funds, real estate credit funds, infrastructure funds, and private equity buyout funds. Cohen also regularly advises sponsors on compliance with the Investment Advisers Act in addition to other regulatory compliance matters, fund-related aspects of real estate and M&A transactions, other liquidity transactions, and internal sponsor governance and economic arrangements.
Over the past five years Goodwin has represented fund sponsors closing over $200 billion in capital into private investment funds, spanning equity and debt, and including closed-end funds, open-end funds, separate accounts and other private capital vehicles.
