Umiami Acquires a Unilever Factory for Plant-Based Meat

The Paris Real Estate team advised UMIAMI, a French foodtech startup specializing in 100% plant-based poultry fillets, on the acquisition of a real estate asset of 14 000 m² for industrial use, located in Duppigheim in the French Grand-East region from Unilever.

The new manufacturing site is expected to be operational from the second half of 2023 and will produce plant-based meat and fish alternatives using the company’s patented technology.

The site was formerly a production factory for Unilever's Knorr brand, whose production of soups and sauces was transferred in 2021 to other sites of the Unilever group.

The Goodwin team was led by Sarah Fleury and included Jocelyne Yacé.
