Partners Jerry Cedrone and Tevia Pollard were honored by the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Excellence in the Law Awards. Jerry was recognized for Excellence in Pro Bono and Tevia was recognized as an Up & Coming Lawyer. Both awards highlight stars of the Massachusetts legal industry.
Jerry is a partner in Goodwin’s Complex Litigation and Dispute Resolution group and a member of its Appellate and Supreme Court Litigation practice. An appellate specialist with significant trial-level experience, Jerry focuses on complex commercial litigation and life-science disputes. His practice spans a range of subject areas, including administrative law, patent law, food and drug law, and constitutional law. He is actively involved in pro bono work, and a substantial portion of his pro bono practice has focused on immigration litigation. Jerry also has significant experience partnering with the ACLU in impact litigation seeking to safeguard and expand First, Fourth, and Sixth Amendment protections, and has done substantial work on behalf of a Massachusetts-based nonprofit that supports adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Tevia is a partner in Goodwin’s Business Law department and a member of its Technology and Life Sciences groups and Public M&A/Corporate Governance practice. Tevia primarily focuses on mergers and acquisitions, securities offerings, financings, corporate governance, and securities law compliance. Some of her transactions include her representation of Slack in its $27.7 billion sale to Salesforce and Forma Therapeutics in its $1.1 billion sale to Novo Nordisk. At Goodwin, Tevia serves on the firm’s Black Anti-Racism Task Force, and co-founded the firm’s Women in Tech initiative. Additionally, Tevia is a member of Goodwin’s Hiring Committee for Boston, where she plays a pivotal role in the firm’s recruitment efforts, and also serves on the Board of Trustees of Spaulding Rehabilitation, Inc. She was named one of six Law360 Rising Stars for Mergers and Acquisitions in 2023 and was recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, Ones to Watch for Mergers and Corporate Governance and Compliance Law, Mergers and Acquisitions Law, and Technology Law for 2023 and 2024.
