Goodwin has hired an insurance-focused partner, Christopher Pizzo, for its financial services practice He has an insurance-focused corporate, transactional and regulatory practice, the firm said. In an interview with Law.com, Pizzo said that he was motivated to move into the financial services practice group at Goodwin to better serve his clients. A variety of clients, both in and out of the insurance industry, are pursuing strategies that increase the overlap between finance and insurance law, he said. “The insurance space is at a critical juncture because there is an interest in innovation and a growth in product offerings and delivery models that in the past wouldn't have been a hallmark of an insurance-focused legal practice,” Pizzo said. “That's now a big part of servicing this industry.”
