Goodwin is giving associates a pair of extra payments totaling up to $140,000, matching the seniority-based bonus scale. The firm will pay bonuses by January 30, according to an internal Tuesday email obtained by Bloomberg Law. Associates to be eligible must bill at least 1,950 hours, which includes pro bono work plus 100 hours of so-called innovation work and 25 hours of training time. Goodwin is also giving bonuses to the professional staff, which the firm calls the global operations or GO Team. The firm will determine their eligibility based on performance and set the amounts individually, according to the email. “The GO Team was essential to our success again in fiscal year 2025,” Goodwin managing partner Mark Bettencourt and chief operating officer Mary O’Carroll said in the email. “Your work enables our lawyers to deliver exceptional client service, powers our operations, and drives the Goodwin 2033 strategy that is propelling us forward.”
