Goodwin Advises Gilde Healthcare on the Acquisitions of BENTEC Endoscopy and Hermann Medizintechnik

Goodwin has advised Gilde Healthcare on the financing of the acquisitions of BENTEC Endoscopy GmbH and Hermann Medizintechnik GmbH through its portfolio company Surgical Precision Instruments (SPI), a specialized group of contract manufacturers for complex surgical instruments and implants. The transactions represent important milestones in SPI’s continued expansion and further strengthen the platform’s position as a leading medtech contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO).

BENTEC Endoscopy specializes in high-precision instruments, components, and assemblies for minimally invasive endoscopic procedures. Founded in 1988 and located in the Tuttlingen area, the company manufactures flexible and rigid endoscopy instruments across six clinical application areas.

Hermann Medizintechnik specializes in the development and manufacturing of surgical instruments and implants, ranging from a broad range of implant systems to customized special instruments for a variety of surgical disciplines. Founded in 1961, the company relies on state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and continuously invests in cutting-edge technology as well as in ongoing development of its employees, ensuring highest standards of quality and excellence.
