Mohammed Alvi is a partner in Goodwin’s Debt Finance practice, based in Santa Monica. He has over a decade of experience representing private equity sponsors, private and public companies, direct lenders and underwriters in a variety of debt financing transactions.
Mohammed advises clients across all sectors, with a particular focus on private equity, life sciences, healthcare, technology, software, renewable energy, manufacturing, and financial services. He has expertise in a broad array of debt financing transactions, including acquisition finance, recapitalizations, restructurings, and refinancings.
Mohammed has extensive experience in cross-border transactions, secured and unsecured credit facilities, high-yield bonds, and equity-linked debt offerings.

Mohammed’s representative experience includes advising:
- A Boston-based private equity fund on multiple debt financings, including leveraged buyouts and dividend recapitalizations involving companies in the technology and software industries
- A public healthcare company on multiple syndicated credit facilities and a high yield bond offering
- A public biotech company with significant Chinese operations on a term loan and revenue interest financing
- A public med-tech company on term loan and revenue interest financings in connection with a de-SPAC
- A direct lender on a term loan and warrant issued by a public biotech company
- A direct lender on multiple distressed debt financings and restructurings involving manufacturing companies
- A public wind blade manufacturer with significant operations in Latin America, Europe, and Asia on a refinancing of an existing preferred equity investment
- A public renewable energy company on a proposed high yield bond offering
- A Boston-based professional basketball team on refinancing existing notes and entry into league-wide credit facilities
