Gabriella Areas is an associate in Goodwin’s Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice with a focus on antitrust litigation. Gabriella joined Goodwin in 2026.

Previous Professional Experience

Prior to joining Goodwin, Gabriella was an associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP, where she represented clients in class action and complex commercial litigation matters. Gabriella also maintained an active pro bono practice and successfully argued a dispositive motion that resulted in dismissal of an action against a low-income tenant.

While attending Berkeley Law, Gabriella worked at the East Bay Community Law Center, where she represented tenants in housing-related disputes and helped secure more than $600,000 in rent waivers and relocation payments for clients. In recognition of her advocacy and client representation, she received the Brian M. Sax Prize for Excellence in Clinical Advocacy.

Additionally, she served as a student board member of the East Bay Community Law Center, Programming Chair of the Women of Color Collective, and an editor of two law journals.

Before law school, Gabriella worked in communications and public affairs roles with a legal aid nonprofit and healthcare organization, where she focused on strategic communications, media relations, grant writing, and community engagement initiatives.
