Aaminah Bhat is an associate in Goodwin’s Technology group, where she focuses on Artificial Intelligence. She works closely with startups and emerging companies on the development of AI-enabled products, as well as negotiating complex commercial agreements. Her practice also includes counseling clients on data use, privacy, and regulatory considerations in a rapidly evolving landscape, including GDPR, CCPA, EU AI Act, and state laws.
Aaminah brings firsthand experience advising frontier AI companies from her 2025 secondment with OpenAI’s legal team, where she supported corporate, privacy, and policy matters for products including ChatGPT.
She holds a JD from UC Berkeley, where she was a member of the Samuelson Law, Technology & Public Policy Clinic and earned dual certificates in Law and Technology and International Law.

Aaminah is a member of the California State Bar. She was previously a researcher at the CITRIS Lab at UC Berkeley, researching AI, policy, and data governance.
Previous Professional Experience
Prior to law school, Aaminah served as a consultant at Deloitte. She also served as a legal intern at Twitter, supporting trust and safety and commercial teams.
