Matthew Fitzgerald is an associate in the firm’s Business Law department. He joined Goodwin in 2022.

Professional Activities
Matt is a member of the working group of the American Bar Association Committee on M&A Market Trends that produces the Private Target Mergers & Acquisitions Deal Points Study, a widely-cited resource on current M&A deal terms.
Matt maintains an active pro bono practice representing Afghans seeking asylum in the United States following Operation Allies Refuge.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Goodwin, Matt served as an infantry officer and judge advocate in the United States Army. He also served as the Honor Captain at West Point, led the West Point Climbing Team, and was selected for both Special Forces and the Army’s Funded Legal Education Program.
