Marnishia Jernigan

Marnishia Jernigan is a law clerk and a member of Goodwin’s Complex Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. Since joining the firm in 2022, Marnishia focuses her practice on general commercial litigation. Her practice encompasses employment litigation, due diligence investigations, products liability, intellectual property, and federal and state complex civil litigation. Marnishia has experience in all phases of litigation including complaints, motion practice, discovery management, summary judgment, and federal and state trials. Marnishia is admitted to practice in Georgia only; she is working under the supervision of the partners at Goodwin.

Prior to joining Goodwin, Marnishia was a Litigation Associate at Greenberg Traurig in Atlanta, where she represented a variety of clients in business torts, contract matters, and various other areas of commercial litigation. Marnishia has experience in all phases of litigation including factual investigations, case analysis, pre-trial discovery and motions practice, and trial.

While attending law school, Marnishia served as an extern for the Honorable Judge Allyson K. Duncan during her time with the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Marnishia is a member of the Georgia State Bar Association, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. She has served as an advisory board member of Georgia Lawyers for the Arts. Marnishia’s pro bono experience includes providing counseling and representation to creatives through her work with Georgia Lawyers for the Arts. Ms. Jernigan has also represented several tenants in landlord-tenant disputes.
