Justin Kanter is an associate in Goodwin’s Financial Industry group and Investment Management and Private Investment Funds practices. Justin specializes in providing regulatory counsel to investment managers of both US and foreign investment products, including private equity funds, hedge funds, REITs, venture capital funds, fund of funds, joint ventures, mutual funds, ETFs and BDCs, principally with respect to their obligations under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940, and other US federal securities laws. He provides regulatory advice to investment managers in connection with SEC registration, fund and product launches, offerings and operational matters. Justin also counsels clients of all sizes in assessing and developing compliance programs, and represents clients before the SEC staff with respect to examinations, exemptive orders, and other matters.

Prior to joining Goodwin, Justin was an associate in the Private Investment Funds Regulatory Practice at Kirkland & Ellis LLP and a legal secundee with the SoftBank Vision Funds.
