Sumit Kapur

Sumit is an associate in Goodwin’s a litigation department. Sumit’s application to the California bar is pending; he is working under the supervision of the partners at Goodwin,

Before joining Goodwin, Sumit was a judicial extern for Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel on the Southern District of California.

While in law school, Sumit was a student in UVA Law’s Innocence Project Clinic and the Decarceration and Community Reentry Clinic, and he served as a Designing Democracy Fellow with the Karsh Center for Law and Democracy. He was an editor for the Virginia Journal of Social Policy and the Law as well as the Virginia Sports and Entertainment Journal. Sumit also participated in Extramural Moot Court as both a competitor and coach.

Sumit was recognized as a Next Generation Leader by the American Constitution Society for his work as the organization’s UVA chapter president.
