Kaitlin Kines is an associate in the firm’s Business Law Department and a member of its Private Equity group. Ms. Kines advises emerging and late-stage companies as well as venture capital, growth equity and private equity investors within the technology sector. She regularly handles a variety of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, venture capital financings, and strategic collaborations. Ms. Kines provides day-to-day corporate counseling to the portfolio company investments of buyout sponsors. Ms. Kines is also involved with the firm’s Fintech practice and advises both emerging Fintech startups and major financial services firms in connection with consortium transactions. She joined the firm in 2019.

Prior to joining Goodwin, Ms. Kines was an associate at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP in New York, where she was a member of the M&A and Securities practice group and represented private equity sponsors, publicly traded companies, and privately held companies in connection with a wide range of corporate transactions.

  • Various buyouts and growth equity transactions for Accel-KKR, Accel Partners, Declaration Partners, Hopin Ltd, Avantus Aerospace, and Amplitude, Inc.
  • Represented private equity fund in $900 million take-private of educational and technology learning provider*
  • Represented private equity fund in $521 million take-private of consumer solutions provider*
  • Represented money transmitter backed by a private equity fund in a $450 million sale to a major credit card company*
  • Represented private equity fund in $400 million spin-merger with a global IT services company*

Pro Bono

  • Pro bono representation of low-income New Yorkers through Legal Services of NYC, a nonprofit pro bono organization offering immigration and immigrants' rights assistance.
