Jeff Koh is an associate in the firm’s Business Law Department and Private Equity Group, and a member of the firm’s Search Funds and Food and Healthy Living practices.
Mr. Koh advises private equity sponsors, their portfolio companies and public and private businesses in variety of industries on a wide range of transactional matters, including leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, platform structuring and add-ons, sales and dispositions, joint ventures, debt and equity financings, growth equity, incentive equity and compensation plans, corporate governance and other general corporate and commercial negotiations.
He represents emerging growth companies, entrepreneurs and venture capital investors in their capital raises and investments, divestitures and exits and other general corporate matters.
He works with searchers, search funds, and search fund investors on fund formation, fundraising, investments, acquisitions and divestitures, and regularly advises search fund companies at their board meetings and in their ongoing operations.
He has served on the boards of various not-for-profit and 501(c)(3) organizations and advises them on corporate governance and ongoing affairs, and has an active pro bono practice in asylum law.
Professional Activities
He served as President of the Chinese American Bar Association of Greater Chicago and President-Elect of the Asian American Bar Association of Greater Chicago.
He also served on the Board of Directors of Raven Theatre and on the Associate Board of Directors of Steppenwolf Theatre.

Mr. Koh was named as a Rising Star by the National Immigrant Justice Center, received a 35 Under 35 Award from Chicago Scholars and a Distinguished Service Award from Chicago Volunteer Legal Services.
While in law school, Mr. Koh was a member of the Michigan Law Review, Executive Articles Editor of the Michigan Business & Entrepreneurial Law Review, and a national finalist in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.
